More information about exceptional vintage swimsuit remarkably good shape

Super cute and special vintage bathing suit in really good condition! The tag says made in Western Germany! Suit zips in back and has metal clasp at the top. Size on tag says 44 but I couldn't find a size conversion chart that compares this to current USA sizing. I usually wear a size 7/8 in pants, 34C bra and the swimsuit fits me. It actually feels slightly too big and I believe it would accommodate a larger bust. It is 13.5 inches wide across chest (under bust) and 17 inches long from armpit seam to bottom. Made of really sturdy material. Purchased at a vintage shop in Melbourne, Australia while traveling. :) I believe this is a late 1960s or 1970s swimsuit.
